CureVac are now pursuing a new Covid-19 vaccine in partnership with GSK, which attempts to target multiple coronavirus variants at one time. While this has shown and appears to elicit ten times more antibodies than their first attempt, Klaus Edvardsen, chief development officer at CureVac told the BBC that they would be unlikely to be in a position to apply for regulatory approval until the end of 2022 at the earliest.
